Position Title: Nursing Full-Time Faculty – Obstetrical/Women’s Health Nursing

Candidate is expected to teach 24 – 30 credit hours per academic year in addition to other responsibilities (12 – 15 credit hour academic workload per semester)

Job Type: Full Time Faculty - 9 month teaching appointment
Position Details: This position is a full-time, on-ground appointment in the Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions. The position includes teaching in both the classroom and lab environment, along with helping to coordinate clinicals. The candidate will be expected to participate in university and community service. Candidate will be required to maintain moderate engagement in scholarly and service commitments outside of the regular teaching appointment.

Expertise in Obstetrical/Newborn Nursing

The ability to teach cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills required by the obstetrical nursing specialty

The ability to operate high-fidelity mannikins, or willingness to learn

Ability to work independently while adhering to high expectations and academic standards for teaching

Fluency or ability to learn a variety of educational software programs

Ability to provide student support and guidance throughout the twelve-month calendar year for registration and advising to ensure the academic success of students

Competency-based education knowledge

Excellent oral, written and listening skills
Experience:
The successful applicant will have:
-
2 – 5 years minimum in Obstetrical/Newborn clinical setting, preferably obstetrical nursing experience is current or very recent

1-3 years of experience teaching in an academic or equivalent educational setting such as clinical teaching in healthcare settings

Strong clinical nursing skills in medical/surgical nursing in addition to obstetrical nursing

Experience teaching in a hybrid environment is helpful but not required

Ability to provide diverse instructional strategies including simulation
Qualifications: Unincumbered TN Nursing license
Education:
Required: MSN
Preferred: DNP/PhD
