JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Undergone a structured accredited training program.
· Current CMRITO registration and proof of professional liability insurance.
· Undergone a structured accredited training program.
· Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS)
· One year of job-related experience an asset.
· Good judgment and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Able to maintain confidentiality of all departmental information.
· A three-month probationary period exists for all Ultrasound technologists.
JOB SUMMARY
The responsibilities of the sonographers are to carry out various Ultrasound procedures; meet all company standards, while ensuring the comfort and confidence of all patients.
1. Carry out diagnostic Ultrasound, maintain all company standards including quality of work and results, test procedure and methodology, turn-around-time, confidentiality of test results, assist and /or provide training to sonographers as required, and ensure patient comfort and confidence with competence and professionalism of the centre and its staff. Ultrasound technologist’s duties are to be performed under the guidance of the Facility Director.
2. Prepare reports for the information of the company consultants, answer technical questions, carry out any necessary information gathering or problem solving as required.
3. Be fully knowledgeable about company procedures and standards including procedures relating to the performance and documentation of examinations, departmental protocols for imaging, the booking system, reporting procedures, turn-around-time in addition being knowledgeable about the equipment and the methods used in other company centers and the amount of training required to become familiar with these methods and equipment.
4. Ensure personal development through taking courses and /or training appropriately to upgrade technical skills, ability and knowledge.
5. Carry out additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
6. Answer technical questions, carrying out any necessary information, gathering or problem solving as required.
