Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Health Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting health awareness and education within the community and classrooms, focusing on preventing teen pregnancy, digital safety awareness, and preventive care. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse populations. The Health Educator will work collaboratively with clinic staff to develop and implement educational programs that empower individuals to make informed health choices. We will train individual in this position on the different cirriculum's we use in the different classroom settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on health-related topics.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify community health issues and gaps in knowledge.
- Provide one-on-one sessions to pregnant or parenting teens.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community organizations to enhance program outreach.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of health education initiatives.
- Create educational materials that are accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.
- Facilitate public speaking engagements to raise awareness about health topics.
- Stay updated on current health trends, medical terminology, and best practices in health education.
Qualifications
- Experience in Public Health, or a related health field is beneficial but not required.
- Experience working with the public/or in a classroom setting would be beneficial but not required.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences effectively.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and concepts related to chronic illnesses.
- Proficiency in data collection methods for program evaluation purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
