Current Iowa nursing license required. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Mandatory Reporter training and NRP required within 6 months of hire. Certified Lactation Counselor or similar required within 1 year of hire. One additional related certification and completion of an approved Childbirth Education course required within 2 years of hire. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field required or willing to obtain within 3 years. Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required, with at least 2 years in obstetrics (OB) preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, other relevant certifications, and related experience may be considered at the discretion of the hiring manager. Will be required to assist on the OB floor with direct patient care as needed, including participation in a weekend and holiday rotation. Candidate should have a commitment to stay knowledgeable of current research and recommendations, have experience implementing patient and staff education, and be self-motivated to meet multiple demands and deadlines. Assists department leadership with policy and procedural development, chart audits, process improvement, and meeting regulatory requirements.
