Job Summary:
6-month full-time paid training program; with completion leading to full-time CMA position
Expand your knowledge and clinical skills in our CNA to CMA program! This program will provide education on anatomy and physiology, medication administration, basic pharmacology, procedures, and more. You will learn to put your new knowledge to practice delivering quality healthcare in the clinic setting alongside our experienced preceptors. Job Functions/Responsibilities:
· Participate in Certified Medical Assistant training courses and clinical experiences with an experienced preceptor in the clinical setting. (Online coursework will constitute approximately 20% of weekly time, with clinical training being approximately 80% of weekly time.)
· Course and certification test costs are covered by CFMC, with a 30-month employment commitment following certification.
· Consult with and keep supervisor informed of clinic activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
· Complies with established patient care standards.
· Maintains established clinic policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
· Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
· Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee interdepartmental and public relations.
· Greets patients and escorts them to the exam room.
· Takes and records vital and patient medical information in chart.
· Prepares patient room for exam.
· Assist Provider in procedures as necessary.
· Completes ordered lab procedures.
· Administer IM, Sub Q injections to include immunizations.
· Wound care and suture removal as directed by Provider.
· Communicate results of all procedures and tests to Provider.
· Discharge patient to receptionist.
· Cleans and disinfects exam rooms after use.
· Restocks supplies, linens, equipment, and checks for defects and out dating.
· Maintains professional growth and development through seminars and educational sessions are required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· CPR Certification.
· CNA certification.
· Maintain required continuing education courses.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Day shift. Monday through Friday. Five 8-hour workdays per week.
