Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to women throughout their reproductive lives, focusing on both obstetric and gynecological health. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a hospital setting. The physician will engage in providing care in the office and in the hospital setting, will share in 1 in 8 on call rotation (will cover weekend call an average of 6 weekends per year). Will work with OB/GYN residents and medical students.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of patients to diagnose and treat various conditions related to obstetrics and gynecology.
- Manage prenatal care for expectant mothers, including routine check-ups and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies.
- Perform surgical procedures both in the hospital OR and in-office, as necessary, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices. In-office procedures are performed under conscious sedation, when needed, and include: colposcopy, LEEP, endometrial ablation, IUD insertion, polyp removal and diagnostic hysteroscopy.
- Educate patients on reproductive health issues, family planning options, and preventive care measures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in hospital rounds and contribute to the development of treatment plans for inpatient cases.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, or board eligible.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Michigan.
- Strong clinical skills with experience in both office and inpatient settings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on advancements in obstetric and gynecological practices.
