RMA of NJ in Basking Ridge is looking for a Urology RN. The Urology Nurse will function as a dynamic member of the patient care team, providing treatment, education, and guidance to urology patients throughout their journey. The Urology Nurse will serve as treatment coordinator and strive to provide every individual an optimal patient experience.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Contributes to providers’ effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; provides patient education pertinent to patient care plan; recommends possible options and courses of action as appropriate; implements provider directives.
- Implements patient diagnostic and clinical treatment plans following RMA protocols and standard procedures in accordance with the patient’s identified needs and treatment goals.
- Serves as liaison between provider, patient, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate services. Resolves patient problems and concerns by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies; Optimizes the patient experience.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients; comforts patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering questions and concerns.
- Follows up on, and communicates, results of laboratory blood, urine, and semen tests to patients.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care services in the EMR system. Ensures documentation meets current legal standards and policies.
- Assists physician with in-office procedures as needed.
- Oversees surgical scheduling: medical/anesthesia clearance, coordinating cases that are timed with female procedures (oocyte retrieval), supervising the surgical scheduler.
Academic Training:
- BSN Degree or active RN license without limitations – required
- BCLS and/or ACLS and/or IV certification – preferred
Position Requirements/Experience:
- 3+ years practical experience working as a nurse – highly preferred
Technical Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel – required
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience - preferred
