Our nurses at HCRM are highly valued members of the team, working closely with our physicians to provide personal and compassionate care to our fertility patients. HCRM staff partners with patients to help them through their fertility journey.
JJOB SUMMARY
Performs and directs patient care services with embryo donation and intended parents. Performs nursing assessment and prepares patients for care encounter. Performs education activities according to Facility policy and as ordered by the physician. Documents explanation of treatment instructions to patient and significant other or guardian.

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of accredited school of nursing required
Positive and effective communication skills essential
Knowledge of approved procedures related to fertility
Ability to work as a team and autonomously
MENTAL DEMANDS
Require frequent and constant judgment and response, occasionally in response to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills. Require language skills adequate for high-level interpersonal and written communication in American English. Ability to communicate through different means and be competent in effective communication in complex situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Require high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities. Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching, and ability to exert force up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE
Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens; frequent exposure to chemical hazards; may encounter radiation hazards.
Specific Third Party Role and Duties
1. Assess and review donor applications for appropriate candidates
2. Request medical records and review for program
3. Schedule donor for screening and FDA paperwork
4. Monitor and review lab results for candidacy
5. Work with donor on scheduling donor cycle when matched
6. Work with Third Party team for continuity of care and process
7. Give education on donor schedule and process, including medication education and administration
8. Document in EIvf and send consents as appropriate for care
9. Provide supportive care during cycle process
10. Communicate in a timely manner to patient questions and concerns
11. Organize and update all donor folders in compliance with FDA guidelines.

7.1. Provides preoperative instruction and explanation of patient rights and responsibilities.
7.2. Describes the treatment prescribed and the participation of the significant other to the patient using approved materials.
7.3. Develops and maintains current materials for teaching and consent procedures.
7.4. Develops teaching programs as requested for use in surgical or medical management, safety, health awareness, and enhancement of patient care.
7.5. Implements approved teaching programs as requested.
8. Monitors patient education and counseling programs to assess quality and to identify areas for improvement.
8.1. Evaluates the outcome of teaching and counseling programs as they pertain to patient's overall satisfaction with the treatment experience.
8.2. Participates in committees, conferences and the quality improvement program.
8.3. Offers assistance to the clinical/surgical staff in problem solving as needed.
9. Performs/directs patient care services.
9.1. Performs admission(initial) interview (with donors, IPs, GCs, etc), assessment, and accurately documents.(all information)
9.2. Review patient records for providers on(regarding) appropriate candidates.
9.3. Triages patient telephone calls (and emails) utilizing knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice.
9.4. Ensures patients are appropriately prepared for care encounter by obtaining medical records and other pertinent information.
9.5. Ensure patient and IPs are communicated with and aware of plan
9.6. Ensures appropriate consent forms are obtained.
9.7. Schedules and provides patient instruction(s) for tests, treatments and procedures
9.8. Communicate with billing office and refer patient for payment options and information
9.9. Competent in medication administration education
9.10. Competent in medication sign in/ out for donors
