To provide administrative support in an efficient, timely and professional manner to the physicians and staff within the medical office.
Description:
1. Greets patients promptly and completes all components of patient registration including, collecting copays, answering the phone, directing calls to the appropriate person, and if applicable, document accurately within the EMR.
2. Communicates with patients to keep them informed of any delays with their appointment time.
3. Maintains providers daily appointment schedules including scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments, processing cancellations and no-show appointments.
4. Check-out patients and schedules any follow-up appointments as instructed.
5. Communicates patients’ needs and requests to appropriate personnel.
6. Monitors, opens, and distributes mail/faxes to appropriate staff.
7. Process medical record requests made by patients, internal and external clients with appropriate approval.
8. Attends monthly departmental meetings.
9. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
10. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.- Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and time management skills.
- (Preferred) Experience with current office technology: Electronic Medical Records (EMR), MS Office, Outlook, etc.
- (Preferred) Knowledge/experience with various insurance authorization/referral requirements
- Must have good communication skills and pleasant telephone manner.
Schedule Details:
40 hrs. per week, Mon-Fri, 8a-4p, 8:15a-4:15p, 8:30a-4:30p, No Weekends & No Holidays
