Job Description:
Seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Director to join our team. The ideal candidate must be Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a proven track record of leadership and at least 5 years of experience as a faculty member in an Ob-Gyn training program. Comfort with managing all aspects of Generalist Ob-Gyn care is expected, with preference given to candidates with experience in minimally invasive and vaginal surgery. Experience with group prenatal care, such as Centering Pregnancy, is helpful but not required.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is a well-established, community-based program dedicated to training residents to provide excellent healthcare, leadership, and service to the community. The program offers broad exposure to obstetric and gynecologic care, including primary care for women, surgical and non-surgical management of gynecologic complaints, and high-risk pregnancy care. The residency program is fully accredited by the ACGME and trains 3 categorical residents per year (12 total residents).
Job Requirements:
Current, active board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience as faculty; Ob-Gyn Residency teaching experience preferred
Demonstrated prior leadership experience; educational leadership preferred
Ability to maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee all educational, operational, and administrative functions of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program, including providing clinical care at the Academic Clinic
Maintain the Program in a fully accredited status with the ACGME and ensure compliance with ACGME Program Requirements for Ob-Gyn residency training
Oversee the selection, appointment, and evaluation of all faculty members
Coordinate the selection, hiring, evaluation, and clinical/educational oversight of all Program residents
Ensure appropriate supervision and quality of care by faculty and residents in all clinical settings
Serve as attending physician in collaboration with other faculty for Methodist patients treated by Program residents
Foster an academic environment that promotes active participation by residents and faculty
Lead continuous quality improvement efforts for the Program in education and clinical care
Demonstrate ongoing personal scholarly activity (as defined by ACGME) and facilitate scholarly activity for faculty and residents
