Seeking a LPN that is able to multi task in a fast paced obstetrics and gynecology clinic.

Job type: Fixed term contract for a 1 year period, with possible extension. Start date will be determined once a suitable candidate is hired.
Required Qualifications:
- Recent or upcoming graduation from a Canadian accredited school of nursing
- Current registration or provisional registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
- A valid active practice permit or a valid provisional practice permit from the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
- Ability to speak and write English fluently
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Level CPR Certificate
- Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccinations
- Practicum experience in a medical office or hospital setting

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Obtaining comprehensive patient history and completing physical assessments
- Providing nursing support services to the physician and assisting the physician in a variety of duties
- Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments/devices for office procedures
- Performing clinical nursing assessments in person and over the phone; accurately relaying pertinent information to the physician; implementing care plans as directed by the physician; evaluating care and following-up with patients as needed
- Providing patient education and counseling on various obstetrical/gynecological topics
- Ensuring the maintenance of accurate patient records with efficient documentation in the electronic medical record
- Communicating with members of the healthcare team in other clinics/healthcare facilities/hospitals to book procedures, make patient referrals, etc.
- Understanding and constantly implementing infection prevention and control practices in a clinic setting
