With our virtual clinic, we will provide our patients with evidence-based, multidisciplinary treatment for hormonal challenges, gynecological conditions, cancer risk assessment or chronic pain related to their reproductive cycles.

About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our multidisciplinary, collaborative care team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a truly innovative health care model and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of women's health.
As a key member of our collaborative care team, the Registered Dietitian (RD) will be responsible for providing exceptional nutrition, diet and lifestyle advice specific to improving the quality of life for women. The Registered Dietician will work alongside the other members of our multidisciplinary team to provide integrated, holistic care for women, from first period to last (and beyond). This role requires a strong clinical background, a deep understanding of women's health needs, and a passion for delivering personalized, evidence-based care.
To ensure consistency of care and to bring the latest advancements in women’s health to market, Coven’s Chief Medical Officer and Advisory Group have developed patient pathways, Standard Operating (SOPs), templates and content to be utilized and adhered to by all members of the care team. This role may improve on these systems and content, however, there is no expectation to develop individual care protocols or content.
Coven’s leadership team will develop our patient pipeline (leads and appointment booking) so there is no expectation to develop your own patient roster, however, patient referrals are appreciated.
Responsibilities:
Via Coven’s EMR and virtual consults, utilize Coven Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates and content to provide:
Diet, nutrition and lifestyle counselling:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Support patients in treating their specific symptoms and hormonal issues, including but not limited to, PCOS, menopause, and chronic conditions common to women at midlife.
- Develop personalized recommendations utilizing multiple modalities for treatment including, but not limited to, Nutritional counselling / Supplements to support optimal nutrition / Label reading / Weight loss and strengthening support / Coaching intuitive eating.
- Provide expert guidance on the selection and integration of evidence-based supplements.
- Developing strategies to incorporate physical activity and exercise recommendations into patient care plans.
- Provide virtual consultations and appropriate follow up care to patients.
Collaborative Care:
- Work closely with the OBGYN, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Psychotherapist, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement integrated care plans with the goal of treating the whole patient (body and mind).
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient cases and ensure coordinated care.
- Provide consultation and support to other team members regarding the nutrition, diet and lifestyle aspects of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
- Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and protocols for various patient groups.
Education, thought leadership and Advocacy:
- Provide education to patients on diet and nutrition.
- Advocate for patients' diet and nutrition needs within the clinic.
- Contribute to the creation of educational resources and programs for patients on various women's health topics, including hormones, menopause management, and other gynecological conditions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in women's health and nutrition.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with relevant regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Utilize the clinic's electronic health record (EHR) system effectively.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure
- Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from a program accredited by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP).
- Current registration and in good standing as a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO).
- Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance appropriate to scope of practice.
- The Menopause Society (formerly NAMS) certification is an asset. Willingness to complete the certification will also be considered.
Clinical and Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with a demonstrated focus on women's health.
- Experience supporting and treating Perimenopause, Menopause, PCOS and other women’s health issues or chronic conditions through diet, nutrition and exercise / strengthening.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based supplement recommendations.
- Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
- Experience with virtual care and necessary hardware and internet requirements to provide seamless patient care remotely.
- Demonstrated thought leadership and a passion for innovation in women’s health.
