About the role
Make a genuine difference to the health of the community in Bourke as their local Registered Nurse for Sexual Health Services. To thrive in this role, you will enjoy working independently while living as a valued member of your community. You’ll receive high level mentoring and support from the local team, outlying peers, and sexual health professionals.
You may bring with you, knowledge of sexual health nursing, but not necessarily the formal certifications, as you’ll receive complete training and education as part of your new role. Very importantly, you will hold a deep respect for Indigenous communities, and you will care about providing culturally safe health services to your patients.
Care is at the heart of the Sexual Health RN in western NSW. The RN provides leadership and support to all people in
the community providing information, assessments, interventions, education and health promotion activities to reduce
the spread of HIV, STI's and Blood Borne Viruses (BBV's) and improve health outcomes for clients, families and
communities.
In accordance with the requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Regulation 2013, any person engaged in NDIS related work is required to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) clearance as part of their employment with Western NSW Local Health District if successful for this role.
