Job Description:
A Joint Commission-accredited health center located in Northwestern Arizona is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Inpatient Operations Pharmacist to join its team. The facility provides comprehensive care across a 4,400 square mile region, serving diverse populations including Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities. With a bed capacity of 73, the center offers inpatient/outpatient services including emergency care, dental, orthopedics, OB/GYN, surgery, and more.
The Night Shift Inpatient Operations Pharmacist plays a key role in overseeing pharmacy operations during the night shift, managing workflow, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing direct patient care. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary medical team and oversight of pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, aides, and billers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage staffing and operational workflow during the night shift
- Oversee pharmacy compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Provide comprehensive medication management for diverse patient populations (pediatric, adult, geriatric, oncology, obstetrics)
- Offer guidance and support to pharmacy team members
- Serve as a liaison between staff and pharmacy leadership
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation using Allscripts
- Adjust schedule as needed to support staffing gaps

Qualifications:
Education:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS-Pharm) from an accredited institution
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association
Experience Requirements:
- Level I: Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience
- Level II: Minimum 2 years experience with board certification in an ASHP-approved specialty (e.g., Critical Care, Infectious Disease, Emergency Medicine)
Additional Details:
- Shift: 7 on / 7 off, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Holiday coverage required
- EMR: Allscripts
- Orientation: Every 2 weeks, paid
- COVID-19 Medical Exemption requests require medical board approval
