Title: Health Programs Officer
Salary: $71,162 - $76,675 per year (pay range explained below).
Contract: Temporary, March 31, 2026
Hours: Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week.
Location: Metro Vancouver, Sinclair office location. 50% hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy. Please note, this role may be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, after April 2024.
Bargaining Unit: PSAC Local 22000 (Public Service Alliance of Canada).
About The Role
As the Health Programs Officer (HPO), you are the main first contact for community health nurses working in First Nation communities across the province. The HPO works closely with the Communicable Disease, Population and Public Health team (CDPPH) team organizing Communicable Disease workshops, nurse certifications and education requirements, tracking inventory, ordering supplies and is an integral part of the team.
In this role, you will provide program advisory services and assistance to the Manager of CDPPH, senior CDPPH leads, and First Nations communities, in support of a number of CDPPH programs, including Immunization, Communicable Disease Management, STBBI, TB, and Maternal Child Health.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have/be –
- BA degree in business administration, health sciences or health administration, or a related field plus one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- Valid driver’s license or personal mobility to the degree normally associated with possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in managing projects and providing reviews and analysis of funding requests, community reports, financial statements and budgets.
- Experience in establishing and sustaining effective working relationships, including conflict resolution.
- Experience in interpreting and applying legislation, regulations or policies.
- Experience in providing effective strategic advice and recommendations, including writing of funding proposals for CPH programs.
- Experience with the fundamentals of project management processes.
- Knowledge of current and emerging issues for Indigenous people and communities, and how they inter-link with the broader Canadian society.
- Experience in using computer applications such as Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint for project development and tracking.
- Maintaining and reviewing basic financial spreadsheets.
- Demonstrating strong organizational skills (such as filing, data storage and retention).

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours.
