Applications are invited for appointment as Postdoctoral Researchers and Research Associates/Assistants in Centre for Translational Stem Cell Biology (Ref.:CTSCB-250301), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
The selected candidates will work in a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong established to administer and support the University’s innovation endeavours.
CTSCB projects are initiated and supervised by scientists and clinicians from The University of Hong Kong and University of Cambridge. Shortlisted candidates will be assigned to one to two projects in the Centre according to their expertise and experience. Centre is aiming to translate discoveries in regenerative medicine and genomic medicine into daily application and thus, those candidates will work on the R&D and business development of the project, which may involve pitching session and meetings with potential investors. Project scopes can be found in the below paragraphs.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline for the position of Postdoctoral Researchers, and at least Bachelor degree in the abovementioned disciplines for the position of Research Associates/Assistants. A strong publication/patent record for Postdoctoral Researchers would be a bonus. Research experiences in at least one of the areas including stem cells, regenerative medicine, cancer, heart disease, liver disease, animal models, immunology, embryology, genomics, genome-editing, and drug screening are desirable. Applicants should have a good practice of laboratory and team working. They should have a good command of written and spoken English, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated track record of wet laboratory experience. Applicants should also be self-motivated, innovative, and able to work well in an interdisciplinary team.
Projects involve translational works in new stem cell technologies for regenerative medicine and genomic medicine.
Appointees are expected to conduct research projects with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists. Working off-campus may be required.
