The Registered Nurse will demonstrate proficiency in nursing standards by communicating with patients regarding their care and treatment plans. The RN is responsible for patient advocacy, application of evidence-based nursing knowledge, use of the nursing process during encounters, and continuity of care as applicable.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May supervise care given by nonprofessional staff and provide instruction as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide primary response, oversight, and support to patient calls and voicemail messages to the physician(s) and practice, including medical counsel, prescription coordination, and appointment scheduling.
- Serve as liaison between the physician and patient in the provision and coordination of patient care, reporting to the physicians.
- Coordinate and provide oversight to incoming medical reports.
- Coordinate and provide follow-up to such reports with physician and patient.
- Assist with clinical procedures and patient monitoring as necessary and required by the practice/physician.
- Perform all aforementioned and assigned duties in accordance with practice/physician policy, and applicable state and/or nursing board governance and law.
- Maintain professional and positive attitude and appearance at all times.

Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must have good vision and hearing perception to view computer screens and discern telephone rings and conversations.
- May be required to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed throughout the day.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Valid and active State of Ohio Registered Nurse license in good standing.
