Gippsland Lakes Complete Health (GLCH) is a not-for-profit organisation that’s been helping East Gippsland residents to live well for more than 40 years.
We’re one of the region’s most high-profile health and support service providers with more than 550 staff, 300 volunteers, and an annual budget in excess of $50 million.

About the role
The Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies program forms part of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Service alongside Universal and Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Nurses. Beginning in the antenatal period, the program is designed to promote optimal health and wellbeing outcomes for families. The MCH Service has a clear direction to deliver primary and secondary health care & targeted support to maximise the health and wellbeing goals of Australian children.
Duties
- Encourage client engagement through assertive outreach.
- Ensure informed consent and participation in decision making to promote self-help and independence.
- Utilise family centred principles of empowering and encouraging in all client contacts.
- Enhance health, safety and well-being through community-based involvement and community support.
- Provide Health Education to enhance behaviour modification in areas such as substance use.
- Provide early intervention opportunities.
- Provide holistic, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that care is comprehensive and coordinated via collaborative case discussions with other supports engaged with client.
- Reduce the impact of vaccine preventable disease.
Skills & Experience
Current General Nursing and Midwifery Registrations with AHPRA and currently or committed to undertaking MCH studies. Consideration will be given to qualifications and experience in an associated discipline.
