• Position Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing medical tests, which contribute to the proper diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Operating laboratory equipment of the highest quality available, the right candidate must have a strong knowledge of molecular biology. At the same time, the laboratory technician is called to follow standard protocols and independently perform the laboratory routine.

• Major Responsibilities:
- Perform experiments according to strict methodologies, procedures, and/or protocols and makes judgment-based decisions, as necessary.
- Follow all safety and quality assurance policies and procedures when completing work.
- Conduct daily laboratory tests in a timely and accurate manner.
- Independently analyze, interpret, record, and review testing results.
- Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
- Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Update job knowledge by participating in trainings and reading technical publications.
- Generate presentations about laboratory work for laboratory staff; compile information for creating required documents and records; keep current with technical developments especially those which can save time, lower cost, and improve reliability.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned, such as taking responsibility for operational support.
- Carry out risk assessments of relevant procedures.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct any problem(s) encountered or notify the Laboratory Director immediately.
• Qualifications:
- BS in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, etc.). Master's degree preferred but not limited.
- Familiar with high-throughput production environment; experience with liquid handling automation preferred.
- Expertise in molecular biology techniques including PCR, genotyping, or sequencing; familiarity with molecular biology systems, processes, and high-end analytical instrumentation.
- Detail-oriented, excellent record-keeping abilities, analytical and organizational skills; Work well in a team setting.
- Proficient in both English Speaking and writing (must).
