Verify correct patient by asking their full name and date of birth, again maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to manage time independently, showing flexibility in being able to assist with other divisions or departments as may be needed
Job Function: 02. Patient Flow- Working with front desk staff with the schedule, monitor for patient arrival. Efficiently manages the patient flow to minimize patient or doctor wait times. Maintains an efficient work environment consisting of availability of necessary documents, cleanliness and organization
Job Function: 03. Patient Intake/Clinical- Provides clinical support in accordance with requirements of department/division. Accurately takes and records vital signs. Chaperones as necessary.
Job Function: 04. Front End Processes- Perform Front End Responsibilities as needed for coverage during shortages or as assigned by coordinator or practice manager in accordance with front end requirements.
Job Function: 05. Room Maintenance- Cleans equipment after each use. Maintains inventory of necessary supplies and equipment. Alerts coordinator in a timely fashion of low stock items for re-order. Maintains exam rooms and lab ensuring that they are adequately stocked. Nightly, wash down exam rooms and clinical areas. Monitors and replaces clinical and administrative supplies in each exam room
Job Function: 06. Lab- Perform urinalysis using clinitek. Perform phlebotomy and fingersticks as needed. Retrieves and process specimens for lab with proper documentation.
Job Function: 07. Referral Process- Work with front desk to follow through with missing referrals or paperwork. Obtain or generate referrals as requested/needed.
Job Function: 08. Compliance-complies with OSHA, JCAHO and HIPPA guidelines. Monitors the temperature of refrigerators. Maintains all required departmental logs (eye wash stations, etc.).
Job Function: 09. Billing/Administrative- Schedule patients reminding them to bring active referral if required, picture ID and insurance card. Confirm the time and location of the appointment. Assist physicians and nurses as requested with faxes, filing, phone calls, charts, documents, appropriate diagnostic ordering forms, etc. Documents no shows in chart and fax to referring MD. At the end of the day, review all charge to verify that every scheduled patient has a bill submitted.
Job Function: 10. Work with MFM staff to maintain efficient schedules and protocols. Suggest changes to improve efficiencies.
Required:
1. HS Diploma or equivalent?
2. EMT certification and/or nursing assistant certification
3. Phlebotomy certification
4. PCT preferred

1. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
2. Patient, compassionate nature
3. Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
4. Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
