This is a replacement post. As a Clinical Fellow in our EPU, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care for patients experiencing early pregnancy complications. Our unit is a specialist service dedicated to the assessment and management of early pregnancy concerns, including miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and other related conditions.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, sonographers, nurses, and administrative staff, ensuring timely and compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include conducting ultrasound assessments, diagnosing and managing early pregnancy conditions, and supporting patients through sensitive and often challenging situations. Additionally, you will have opportunities for clinical training, research, and professional development within a leading teaching hospital.

- Clinical Care: Providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of early pregnancy complications such as miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and pregnancy of unknown location.
- Ultrasound Proficiency: Developing and refining ultrasound scanning skills to aid in the timely diagnosis and management of early pregnancy conditions.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working closely with consultants, nurses, sonographers, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Patient Support: Delivering compassionate care, counseling patients on their diagnosis and management options while addressing their emotional and medical needs.
- Education & Training: Engaging in teaching opportunities, supporting junior doctors, and contributing to the continuous learning culture within the department.
- Service Improvement: Participating in audits, quality improvement projects, and research initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.
- This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional development in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology, preparing fellows for advanced training and leadership positions in obstetrics and gynaecology.
