Location : Kuantan
As a Biomedical Science lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of Biomedical Scientists. Your responsibilities will encompass teaching, curriculum development and review, research, and fostering industrial collaboration, with a focus on adapting technology to all the activities. Your teaching part will focus on gross anatomy, histology, embryology and other related courses.
You shall be a member of the staff of the Department of Biomedical Science, Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences, IIUM Kuantan. You shall perform teaching, research, examination duties, and such other obligations as are normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM.
You should also undertake moral and religious obligations in relation to your colleagues and students as part and parcel of your duties as a member of the academic staff of IIUM.
You shall attend meetings of IIUM Authorities, Boards and Committees to which you, being an academic staff member, may be appointed as a member by virtue of the IIUM Constitution or any Statutes or Acts, or of any administrative actions of the Rector, Dean, Head of the Department, or Programme Director
You are also expected to advise and guide students in relation to their character, behaviour and moral conduct. In short, you are not only a teacher (Mu'allim), a scholar ('Alim) but also a moral educator (Murabbi).
- Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop, or update, and deliver teaching materials to students using a
range of methods and platforms for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Monitor students’ performance and attendance for undergraduate and postgraduate
programmes.
- Develop, administer, and grade assessments on students for undergraduate and
postgraduate programmes.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in clinical attachment, research,
community, and/or laboratory activities.
- Contribute to the development/review, planning, and implementation of curriculum for
undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Conduct research and produce publications or other research outputs.
- Apply and secure for research funding support.
- Establish and maintain network/collaboration with other institutions, as well as with
industrial, commercial, or public organizations, for research or professional purposes.
- Attend workshops/seminars/conferences for continuous professional development or
improvement.
- Actively participate in working groups or committees at the department, Kulliyyah,
university, national, or international levels.
- Uphold the university’s philosophy, vision, mission, and educational goals at all times.
- Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should have
PhD degree specialising in human anatomy or any relevant fields from any international or local institutions of higher learning recognised by the Government or equivalent.
ii.
Master of Science specialising in human anatomy or any relevant fields from any international or local institutions of higher learning recognised by the Government or equivalent.
iii.
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science from any international or local institutions of higher learning recognised by the Government or equivalent.
- Minimum Competencies
- Experienced in gross anatomy, histology, and embryology either in teaching and/or research

- Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.

- Candidates must have a strong foundation and knowledge in Biomedical Science and have great passion in teaching and research.

- Previous teaching experience, a strong publication record, and active membership in the academic community would be advantageous.
- Language Qualifications
All Candidates Must Have Obtained
- Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia
(SPM) level OR equivalent qualification recognised by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).
- IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4.
Candidate without any of these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language
Proficiency Test.
