Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
You will provide safe and quality nursing care in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia registration standards, the RN Competency standards and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Professional Practice Guidelines.
You will practice and promote continuous improvement and a culture of learning and evidence-based practice. Our midwives are dedicated to providing all aspects of pregnancy, birth and postnatal care in our antenatal clinics and services, on our maternity wards and in birth suites, in addition to care for our babies in our special care nurseries.
Our maternity and neonatal facilities are some of the finest in the country and we offer comprehensive parent education to give you everything for new parents.
The Position
- Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high standard of nursing care in consultation with the health care team, patient and carers.
- Provide safe, holistic and customer-focused patient care.
- Ensure nursing care is documented accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure medical treatment orders are implemented and documented, consulting with doctors if orders are unclear.
- Assess the need for and provide health education for patients and carers.
- Ensure communication to others is respectful, courteous and compassionate.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information is maintained, as documented in the Privacy and Confidentiality agreement and policy.
- Provide effective verbal and written communication ensuring the patient, carers and the interdisciplinary team are included in the immediate and ongoing health care.
You will have an understanding and knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice. Holding a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife, you will have recent clinical experience in an acute care/relevant environment and a Commitment to personal and professional development.
To succeed you will have well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.

The Benefits
- Salary: $67,087 to $94,754 (pro rata for part time) plus 11.5% superannuation
- Salary $42.30 per hour to $59.75 per hour (includes causal loading) + 11.5% superannuation
- Permanent, Part time, Full time or Casual Position
