We are seeking a compassionate and experienced band 6 midwife to join our maternity bereavement services team. The successful candidate will work alongside the current team to provide expert care and support to women and their families experiencing pregnancy loss.
This is a full time role, the role is based upon a 60/40 dual role. 60% Bereavement Associate Midwife and 40% clinical shifts. The working hours will be weekdays and weekends only.
The full role requires aspects of clinical care, emotional support, administrative duties, and antenatal and community patient support.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a warm, empathic supportive and approachable personality and a unique skillset for dealing with challenging situations.

Responsibilities
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
- Perform care planning and refer to multidisciplinary team members as needed.
- Deliver sensitive and personalised bereavement care, ensuring emotional and psychological support.
- Maintain knowledge and manage obstetric emergencies.
- Ensure adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with health professionals, MDT teams, and support groups.
- Ensure high-quality bereavement care across all areas, including GAU and Neonatal Unit.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice and guidelines.
- Supervise and assess students.
Requirements
- Experience in maternity care and bereavement support.
- Ability to handle clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Engage in all aspects of the role with appropriate training provided.
