The post holder will work closely with the Maternity Risk and Governance Lead to develop and facilitate implementation of the Maternity Risk Management Strategy and provide specialist risk management advice to staff within the maternity directorate.
They will be responsible for; the on-going monitoring of the maternity risk register, monitoring and investigating local and serious incidents; using root cause analysis where appropriate. They will be proactive in their approach to risk prevention and will help to encourage an open and transparent reporting culture that enables the organisation to learn lessons and prevent incidents from reoccurring. It is expected the post holder will work clinically on a regular basis to maintain clinical credibility.
To deputize for the Maternity Risk/Governance Lead in their absence or as appropriate.
