What We Are Looking For
Nurse Practitioner (NP) integrates advanced nursing processes (comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver high-quality healthcare services and ensure continuity of care for patients. Utilizes advanced knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and ethics to perform duties within the NP Scope of Practice. Has authority and accountability for coordinating outpatient care, including advanced treatment plans. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and enhance patient satisfaction. Performs other duties as needed to support efficient operations of Women's Health and meet patient care needs in the outpatient setting.

Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, (Admin hours can be remote) Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm | Location: Women's Health, San Bernardino, CA
Essential Functions And Deliverables
- Apply advanced nursing knowledge and skills within the NP scope of practice to manage call queues, perform triage, coordinate patient referrals, and provide comprehensive patient education to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement educational programs tailored to the specific needs of patients, families, and healthcare professionals related to various health conditions.
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide expertise to clinic staff, physicians, patients, and other departments on medical and nursing matters.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and perform both simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures required by the patient population served by the NP.
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR system according to established policies while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of care provided by the NP, including the development and evaluation of care standards.
- Stay informed about current insurance information and regulations affecting patients and families, ensuring compliance with insurance authorization requirements.
- Instruct and schedule patients for tests and procedures ordered by healthcare providers, assist with obtaining authorizations, and communicate test results to patients after review by healthcare providers.
- Deliver high-quality patient care by adhering to departmental procedures and standards, and recommend innovative methods or processes that enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of care.
- Assist in the development and updating of guidelines and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.
- Use time efficiently to ensure completion of nursing duties in accordance with established departmental procedures and standards.
- Coordinate and actively participate in the cross-training of other team members within the department to ensure a cohesive and skilled workforce.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex care plans for patients with chronic conditions, including medication management, specialist referrals, and community resources.
- Develop and implement initiatives to promote health education and disease prevention within the community served by the NP, including wellness programs, health screenings, and outreach events.

Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree and completion of NP curriculum required. Doctorate preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license and California Nurse Practitioner Certificate required. Preferred to have a National Provider Identifier (NPI). DEA License is required. As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
- Experience: Minimum one year experience in an area of NP specialty preferred. Minimum two (2) years of experience as an RN in an acute care setting or in a sub-specialty clinic environment required. Management experience preferred.
- Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems like Epic, advanced computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word, as well as, the ability to use planning software and spreadsheets for scheduling and data analysis. A typing speed of 40 WPM is needed for efficient data entry, along with accurate copying skills. Effective telephone use is essential for patient communication and care coordination.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit strong interpersonal abilities to communicate effectively and collaborate with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams. This entails active listening, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the capacity to build rapport and trust across diverse healthcare environments
- Essential Mental Abilities: Possess critical mental faculties to analyze complex medical situations, make informed decisions, and adapt to evolving patient needs. This includes strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
