Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive health assessments for students, including monitoring vital signs and assessing health conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Manage acute and chronic health issues, including infectious disease care, and provide appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized healthcare plans for students.
- Respond to medical emergencies by utilizing basic life support skills and knowledge of emergency medicine protocols.
- Maintain accurate health records for all students, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Virginia nursing license (RN or LPN)
- Previous experience as a school nurse
