Position Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Specialist to join our Global Male Reproduction Services (GMRS) team. This role is part of the Global Technical Services department of Topigs Norsvin, reporting directly to the Manager of Global Male Reproduction Services (GMRS). The successful candidate will be based in Manitoba, Canada, and will support technical services, quality monitoring, and advancements in male reproduction management and semen processing across our Global Network of AI stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute technical services and quality monitoring of assigned Topigs Norsvin AI organizations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve semen collection and processing at owned, contracted, and client AI stations.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Topigs Norsvin AI standards, procedures, and tools.
- Contribute to research and development efforts, bringing market insights to the reproduction and fertility research platform.
- Oversee North American quality control (QC) lab submission organization and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with the GMRS team to understand partner needs and enhance service delivery.
- Participate in key account teams for integrated clients.
- Conduct GMRS audits and develop improvement plans related to semen production and efficiency.
- Assist in developing training programs and new process control techniques.
- Stay up to date with advancements in male reproduction technologies and implement relevant innovations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters (MSc) degree in Animal Science or a related field. Minimally five years of relevant experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in swine reproduction (both male and female).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple interests in an international setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse cultural and professional environments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and independent project execution.
- Fluent in English (Spanish proficiency is an asset).
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% across North and South America.
