Together, Oula provided by Stamford Health is opening a practice location in Norwalk with additional locations to follow.
This is an exciting

Lead Certified Nurse Midwife to build a collaborative practice that clinicians and patients dream about and make history as Stamford Health enters into partnership with Oula and opens the first maternity care practice of its kind in
Norwalk, CT. As
Lead CNM, you will bring strong midwifery leadership to a high-functioning team committed to the core principles of reproductive justice to support principles of body autonomy, self-determination and cultural respect. We're seeking an experienced leader to steer our growing maternity care practice and guide a dynamic and innovative team. In addition to helping to shape Oula's clinical model, you will also be responsible for delivering full-spectrum perinatal care. The full-time Lead CNM schedule is comprised of clinical and administrative responsibilities – approximately 60-90% clinical (call + office coverage for prenatal care) and 10-40% administrative duties.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
Overnight rotational call required, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Leads a team of midwives by hosting regular team meetings, managing performance, and arranging staffing coverage
- Participates in Oula/Stamford Health quality oversight structures and programs
- Assists in development and implementation of clinical protocols that enable effective midwife-OBGYN collaboration and deliver high-quality patient care
- Identifies potential incidents and risk considerations for escalation and further review
- Attends and participates in regular administration meetings related to Clinical Care, Clinical Operations, Quality/Patient Safety, Finance & Midwifery Leadership
- Collaborates on new resident and faculty training on midwifery model of care, low intervention care, and collaborative care practice guidelines
Clinical
- Provides full-scope midwifery maternity (labor, birth, and postpartum) and GYN care at both the Norwalk clinic location and Stamford Hospital.
- Facilitates clinical oversight of patients through all phases of their pregnancy journey – includes working with the interdisciplinary team to establish eligibility for care for moderate/high risk patients, ensuring clear communication that is well-aligned with prenatal care and intrapartum collaborative care plans, conducting consultations, and transferring to MD care as required by clinical protocols
- Communicates effectively with patients during and between appointments to ensure questions are answered and concerns are addressed
Requirements:
- Active LM (Licensed Midwife) licensure in the state of Connecticut
- Certification by the AMCB as a Certified Nurse-Midwife
- Minimum five years of post-graduate clinical experience within a hospital labor & delivery unit and in low acuity maternity and gynecology care.
- Leadership experience including mentoring or precepting midwives or a strong desire to lead and mentor a team
