Job Summary
Baptist Corporate Health is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an acute care, outpatient clinic or occupational health setting. This is a part-time opportunity with approximately 20+ hours per week.
The APP will have the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, providing annual physicals for corporate clients. The provider must be comfortable with women’s and men’s health, acute and chronic patients, patient follow-up and wellness exams. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency with EMR, excellent oral/written communication skills and building rapport with patients. Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines and/or experience conducting fit-for-duty or DOT physicals strongly preferred.
Work is currently seasonal in nature occurring from March-September, approximately 2 days per week. There is some flexibility with scheduling. Candidate must be willing to travel locally to the Baptist Nassau and Baptist South campuses. This is a PRN position (no guarantee hours/no benefits) with the potential to become part-time in the future.
Qualifications
- Certified ARNP or PA
- Licensed ARNP or PA
- Active/unrestricted state license in good standing
- No current or pending malpractice lawsuits
- Ability to make sound medical decisions based on a comprehensive evaluation
- BLS Certification
Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations
- Orders x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic procedures – interprets results and makes recommendations
- Strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skill as evidenced by capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components
- Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, inter-professional care team and patients
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines and ability to reference the guidelines when determining fit-for-duty clearance
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
