Position Summary
Dr. Amargant-Riera’s research laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms that define oocyte quality. The female reproductive system is the first to age in humans resulting in a decrease in the quantity and quality of oocytes. The lab uses the mouse model to investigate the ovarian pathways that regulate oocyte quality and whether these mechanisms are dysregulated with advanced maternal age. We are interested in two main lines of research:
- How do the mechanical cues of the ovary regulate folliculogenesis and
oocyte quality? (See Amargant et al., 2020, Aging Cell)
- How does oocyte-granulosa cell communication regulate folliculogenesis
and oocyte quality in normal conditions and aging?
Join our friendly and collaborative group that is excited to study female reproduction and women’s health. You will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects as well as to develop exciting new research directions. We are looking for a motivated applicant who is eager to learn and acquire new skills.
This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in pursuing careers in science and/or medicine, or for those interested in careers within a lab. Our lab will provide the resources, environment, and mentorship to help you grow.
