- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the Clinic and/or Long Term Care setting according to the scope of practice outlined by the Board of Nursing, approved protocols, and national standards of practice as directed by the physician preceptor. **Patient Education:**
- Provides patients and/or family members with education related to the disease process, health, and wellness
- Serves as a resource for community agencies as appropriate **Documentation:**
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed **Continuing Education:**
- Ensures clinical competence
- Stays abreast of changes in medical management
- Participates in a variety of health care education activities **Requirements:**
- Master’s Degree in Nursing required; Doctorate Degree preferred
- Licensed in State as a Nurse Practitioner; required
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as an RN preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication required
- Maintains working knowledge of skills and current technology; required
