The post holder will be required to work a 1:8 on call rota, in line with anaesthetists in training. They must be able to cover emergency theatre and to have obstetric anaesthetic competencies sufficient to cover labour ward out of hours, with support from a third on call. Like all hospitals, we are seeing increasing numbers of operative deliveries, both elective and emergency.
There will be time in elective theatres with senior staff to support further training and development. We have a number of skilled regional anaesthetists and TIVA is also strongly encouraged.
This post is suitable for appropriately experienced international doctors, as well as UK medical graduates who wish to take time out of the formal training programme, whilst still continuing to train and develop in a supportive environment.
