An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Midwife to join the Visiting Midwifery Service in the Midwest.
Position Profile
The Visiting Midwife Service role is to manage, coordinate and provide competent, evidence-based Midwifery care to women in the outpatient setting, within a Midwives scope of practice. Leadership and advanced Midwifery skills relevant to Geraldton Hospital will be required to perform this role. This position will provide supervision and support of Midwives, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, unregulated care workers including Assistants in Nursing and students.
To be successful, you will have...
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence-based midwifery care within a relevant practice setting.
- Ability to function as a team leader and team member within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; including effective negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated incorporation of quality and risk management principles within practice.
- Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.
This is a recruitment pool for Permanent or Fixed Term Part Time appointment at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility permanency.
This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:
- The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
- Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
