About The Community
Founded in 1735 by French Canadian colonists and settlers from east of the river, it was the first organized European settlement west of the Mississippi River in present-day Missouri. To this day, Ste. Genevieve has a thriving tourism population as it has preserved many of its old buildings and turned them into local shops and restaurants. Multiple nearby wineries date back to the 1800’s and provide daytime getaways with fantastic views of rolling hills and family owned farms.
