LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank is a community-based public cord blood bank that collects and stores umbilical cord blood for the purpose of clinical cures and research in the field of stem cell transplantation.

Cord Blood Program Supervisor in
Miami, FL.
This position is responsible for educating the public about cord blood donation, recruiting new cord blood donors, and working closely with hospitals, while providing supervisory oversight of Cord Blood Donation Recruitment Specialists.

Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned Cord Blood Donor Recruitment Specialists
- Educate clinicians and potential donors on the cord blood donation process and proper cord blood collection technique
- Facilitate daily activities at collection site(s) and ensure they are performed according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Train new collection staff
- Conduct regular meetings with collection staff to review collection site goals
- Propose incentive programs to increase collections
- Make presentations to healthcare professionals and expecting families.
- Distribute educational materials in labor and delivery units and private obstetric offices within the assigned location
- Maintain effective working relationships with local hospitals and their staff
- Co-develop donor education materials and public service announcements targeting minority populations
- Attend health fairs and other sponsored events to promote and increase the awareness of Cord Blood
- Act as liaison between Cord Blood and hospitals within the assigned location
Qualifications
- At least (1) year supervisory or management experience preferred
- Bachelors degree required
- Must be proficient in both English and Spanish
- Prior experience in cellular therapy, cord blood processing/research and/or experience in a medical laboratory, labor and delivery, hospital, obstetrical office, or other healthcare related setting is strongly preferred
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted
- Valid driver's license; must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to interact with medical professionals at every level
- Positive bedside manner and emotional intelligence, with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work with confidential records and maintain confidentiality
- Flexibility to work nights weekends and holidays, as necessary
- Be comfortable working and navigating in a hospital setting and communicating with healthcare professionals at every level
- Ability to co-create and deliver relevant presentations to superiors, peers, and subordinates within, as well as outside of, the organization
- Willingness and ability for regular travel
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
