There has never been a more exciting time to join the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division. This post gives an experienced and effective Nurse leader the opportunity to help influence and shape our services to provide exceptional healthcare across a range of settings.
The successful candidate will hold the most senior nursing position within the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division. You will have a proven track record for innovation and leadership, and will be pivotal in providing strategic, visible, clinical and professional leadership for nursing across the Division. You will thrive on providing specialist expertise for patient safety, quality and experience, efficiency and performance, which improve patient outcomes by driving transformation. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing national nursing policy and professional advice to the Divisional Director and General Manager on clinical nursing issues to ensure high quality and effective services across Mental Health and Learning Disability.

Main duties of the job
- The Divisional Nurse is an integral part of the Divisional Triumvirate, working in partnership with the Divisional Director and General Manager.
- The post holder will possess exceptional strategic and operational expertise to deliver and evaluate progress in achieving the Health Boards vision in achieving excellence in healthcare.
- Holding the most senior nursing position within Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, the Divisional Nurse will provide strategic, visible, clinical and professional leadership, for nursing across the Division. Providing specialist expertise for patient safety, quality and experience, innovation, efficiency and performance that improves quality of care and patient outcomes; driving transformation through agreed improvement models.
- The post holder will influence and contribute to Divisional and Corporate initiatives, particularly with respect to continuous improvement in patient care delivery and clinical quality. Providing assurance of proactive management of clinical improvement plans, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond to identified risks.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Educated to Masters level in nursing/health care related subject

- Have worked at a senior level within the NHS with extensive experience across a range of health settings
- Have substantial nursing leadership experience within a large complex and multi-professional organisation
- Significant experience of service improvement or successful management of organisational change in a complex environment
- Experience of leading and managing conflicting priorities and demonstrating ability to provide stability to the team
- Demonstrable success in building, leading, motivating, managing and developing teams, embracing a compassionate leadership approach
