About The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the
Surgical Services team as a
Elective Surgery Booking Officer, where you will be responsible for:
- Providing a comprehensive, friendly, and patient-focused service to patients waiting for elective procedures.
- Undertaking accurate, comprehensive, and confidential data entry of patients being waitlisted for elective procedures.
- Planning and programming elective lists to ensure maximum theatre utilisation and patient flow.
- Considering equipment requirements, Length of Stay (LOS), and patient age when scheduling procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to elective surgery guidelines regarding timeliness, treat-in-turn policies, and categorisation priorities.
- Minimising risks to the health unit and maximising the efficacy of theatre operations.
- Scheduling and managing all required pre-admission and post-operative appointments for elective procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal including appropriate telephone etiquette.
- Proven initiative and sound organisational skills to prioritise workloads and perform under pressure to meet demanding deadlines
- Ability to work in an environment where unsettling events may occur and demanding prioritisation of patient information management is required.
- Previous experience in an administrative role requiring the use of Microsoft Office Suite application such as but not limited to Excel, Work and Outlook
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Understanding patient rights and responsibilities and confidentiality
