About the Role:
Join our team as a Midwife Manager on a full time basis to work at Monash Women’s, Maternity Clinics based at Monash Medical Centre.
In this leadership role, as Midwife Manager, you will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Women’s Health Clinics, ensuring safe and timely operation of the clinic, and excellent Antenatal care to our Women. Women’s health clinic midwife manager is also the Emerald team Midwife Manager, and co-ordinator for child birth education for Clayton campus.
Working with your team to care for women, you will lead a dynamic, professional group and will be accountable for the clinical, financial and human resource management of your area.
In collaboration with Team Leaders at each of our sites, you will encourage and support Monash Women’s model of practice to ensure women receive consistently high quality, safe care throughout their journey.
The opportunity is an ongoing opportunity, working Monday to Friday. You will also be responsible to working on the floor 50% to run the clinics.
About Us:
Our Maternity Clinics are coordinated through Monash Medical centre, and we run different clinics on different days of the week. We conduct in person education classes for our women that are booked to birth at MMC and also provide a wide range of pregnancy support services for diverse pregnancies.
We support women from low to high risk pregnancies, and our collaborative approach to pregnancy care, ensures our women receive a comprehensive range of Assessment and Birthing services for the rapidly growing communities of Melbourne’s South East.
The Monash Women’s program works in conjunction with our Casey, Monash Medical Centre and Sandringham Hospital’s Women’s Health teams.
About You:
You are an experienced midwife, passionate about Women Centred Care, with a demonstrated commitment to empowering women and their families within a service that embraces consistency of advice and continuity of philosophy. You consistently role-model clinical excellence and are a proven leader of people, motivating your team to work effectively together in a clinical setting. You will be inspired everyday working with like-minded, passionate colleagues who share your values and purpose.
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Demonstrated Midwifery experience post registration, including an Associate Manager or equivalent leadership role
- Recency of practice in both clinical excellence and leadership within Birth Suite is essential due to the nature of the role. Skills in leading the planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of midwifery care at a consistently high standard
- A commitment to supporting midwives the opportunity to gain and maintain full scope of practice
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and clinical outcomes
- Sound communication skills, enabling the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health
- Excellent organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
- A commitment to safe practice, utilising a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards
