The Family Practice Physician sees clients independently and those referred by other physicians and mid-level providers.
Position requires 36 hours/week on-site for client care time at Amoskeag Health; an additional 4 hours per week is made available for participation in various administrative/clinical team meetings, and case conferencing/management; must have admitting privileges at Elliot hospital. The Physician provides low risk obstetric care, including prenatal care, routine deliveries, and post-partum care.

- Workers Supervised: Acts as an intermediate supervisor of mid-level providers and medical assistants.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is $108.17/hour - $132.21/hour.
At the time of an offer, determination of your rate will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.
There is a sign-on bonus for this position. Sign-on bonuses are contingent upon active employment status and a positive performance review.
Responsibilities:
- Provide complete, comprehensive, family-oriented outpatient care for clients throughout the life cycle including health examinations and treatment of medical conditions, to include follow-up on any problems detected.
- To medically manage acute and chronic illness including acute complications and routine follow-up. Develop a plan of care, coordinate care and determine the need for case conference.
- Make appropriate referrals to both internal disciplines of Amoskeag Health and/or external agencies for additional services required including sub-specialty evaluation, surgical evaluation, social services, nutrition services, substance abuse and mental health counseling.
- Provide care to clients with acute illness. Therefore, the physician's schedule should allow for clients to be seen on a same day basis, as necessary. Nursing staff should determine which clients are in need of acute, same day appointments within the confines of Amoskeag Health objectives and policies in collaboration with the physicians.
- Prescribe medications for clients for treatment of medical conditions, when indicated.
- Provide appropriate follow-up with assistance of the nursing staff to include telephone/written correspondence, (i.e., to inform clients of abnormal test results). Consult with nursing staff as indicated.
- Provide clinical consultation to physicians and mid-level providers at Amoskeag Health as needed.
- Responsible for accurate, timely documentation in the client's medical record of client contacts, case planning and client's plan of care. All documentation in a client's electronic medical record to be easily understood by anyone who may need to access the record.
- Provide clear written and oral communication to both Amoskeag Health clients and employees.
- Participate in an on-call system to provide Amoskeag Health clients access to health care services. (If part time and not taking on-call, will maintain communication with other Amoskeag Health providers regarding client s care.)
- Provide in-hospital care for Amoskeag Health clients when appropriate for treatment of medical conditions. (If part time, may not participate in hospital care.)
- Participate in various administrative/clinical staff meetings to include, but not limited to Prenatal Case Conferences, Medical Advisory Board, QI Committee, general Amoskeag Health meetings, provider meetings, and case conference/management, and/or administrative meetings as requested. If absent, responsible for reading minutes of meetings and signing the documentation.
- Attend mandatory safety-related and infection control in-services as designated by the Senior Management Team.
- Assist with the development of medical/clinical policies and protocols for clients at various ages of the life cycle, as needed.
- Become familiar with local agencies so as to increase the ease of, and assure good communication.
- Represent Amoskeag Health at various national, regional and local conferences.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity of population being served. Maintain age-related competence.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
