Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care and supporting our medical staff in delivering high-quality healthcare services. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.
Maintain accurate patient records electronically and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Experience with Athena EMR is preferred.
Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Return patient calls, record advice briefly in EMR, send medications to pharmacies electronically.
Support urgent care operations by managing patient flow and assisting with triage when necessary to maintain timely schedule & allow for emergent visits as needed.
Be persistent in efforts at patient notification of results.

Qualifications

Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare setting is preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for effective patient assessment.
Familiarity with urgent care protocols and procedures is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals & for chart documentation is necessary.
Must demonstrate professionalism and self control at all times while working in a professional medical setting. Must have no substance abuse problems or anger management issues. Must have reliable transportation & be available for scheduled shifts.
Must have a commitment to providing compassionate care to all patients.
