About This Opportunity

We’re seeking a motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an exciting project, the IVF Support Study, funded by an NHMRC Ideas Grant. This Australia-first project is investigating the emotions and coping strategies of patients during an in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment cycle. We will use this information to develop a digital intervention to support people during their treatment. Based within the Australian Women and Girls' Research Centre, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful, patient-focused research while working alongside a passionate, multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will primarily be involved in analysing the quantitative survey data gathered from patients during treatment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful research that directly supports the wellbeing of people navigating fertility treatment.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

Conduct high-quality research, including data collection, analysis, and the preparation of publications in leading academic journals.
Analyse longitudinal survey data, using a variety of advanced statistical analysis techniques
Collaborate on grant applications and contribute to securing research funding.
Contribute to the supervision and mentoring of research students, where appropriate.
Actively participate in academic citizenship, including service roles, committee involvement, and community or industry engagement.

About You

Completion or near completion of a PhD in psychology, epidemiology or public health
Demonstrated experience analysing longitudinal quantitative data. Some experience with analysing qualitative data would be an advantage.
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities
An understanding of fertility treatment in Australia would be highly regarded (e.g., in vitro fertilisation)
