Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate OB and Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our healthcare team for a contract! This vital role involves providing high-quality care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, ensuring both maternal and neonatal safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Duties

Monitor the health and progress of laboring patients, providing continuous assessment and support.
Administer medications and IV infusions as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Assist with childbirth procedures, including airway management and spinal taps when necessary.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families on labor processes, pain management options, and postpartum care.
Implement infection control measures to maintain a safe environment for mothers and newborns.
Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
Participate in critical care transport for high-risk deliveries as required.

Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of nursing experience in a labor and delivery setting. Additional skills that are beneficial include:

Proficiency in critical care transport
Experience with laboratory procedures
Knowledge of dermal fillers for postpartum aesthetic care
Familiarity with ostomy care practices
Understanding of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments
