Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Doula to provide support to expectant mothers and their families throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy, along with exceptional patient service skills. As a Doula, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that families feel informed, empowered, and supported during their birthing experience.

Responsibilities

Provide continuous emotional and physical support to mothers before, during, and after childbirth.
Assist in patient assessment by monitoring vital signs and recognizing any changes in the mother's condition.
Educate families on the birthing process, pain management options, and newborn care.
Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Advocate for the mother's birth plan preferences while ensuring safety and comfort.
Offer guidance on relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises (inhale) to help manage labor pain.
Support postpartum recovery by providing resources for breastfeeding, infant care, and emotional well-being.
Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of all clients.

Required Criteria:

High School Diploma or GED
1 year in childbirth education, labor support, or breastfeeding education and support
Doula certification from an accredited Doula training program
Basic computer literacy
Flexible schedule
Ability to communicate effectively with organizational and external customers as well as agencies.
Excellent customer service skills
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various cultural practices, beliefs, and traditions related to childbirth and the postpartum period.CPR Certification

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $27,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
