As we grow, our need for qualified staff increases. La Vie Executive Health is currently hiring for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for our Oakville Location.

This is a part-time position with the potential of transition to full-time.

The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal communication and social skills and be proficient in abdominal, male and female pelvic, thyroid, obstetric and high resolution/small parts exams. Proficiency, confidentiality and respect must be displayed to patients while offering the highest level of patient care and infection control.

The chosen candidate will:

Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations
Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment
Care properly for sonography equipment and report equipment failure
Write reports based upon the scan results and completion
Alert appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention
Use the ability to solve problems and make decisions
Work independently or with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Manage multiple priorities and projects, and display flexibility in a fast-paced work environment
Display good work ethic and friendly and cheerful disposition
Maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality
Pursue professional development for the continual improvement of patient care
Ensure that all sanitation and safety protocols are followed

The candidate must possess certification from an accredited ultrasound program as well as registration with Sonography Canada and CMRITO. Professional Liability insurance is the responsibility of the sonographer and must be shown at start of work. The candidate must have completed at least 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital environment.

Experience and certification in vascular ultrasound is considered an asset.

Salary: $40-$42/hour
