The Registered Nurse (RN) in our OB/GYN practice provides compassionate, patient-focused care in a collaborative, small-practice environment. This role supports physicians and advanced practitioners in delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, while also managing various clinical and administrative duties to ensure an efficient, positive patient experience.

The RN will assist with patient education, examinations, procedures, care coordination, and follow-up — playing a key role in maintaining the high quality and personal touch our patients value.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments while ensuring their comfort and privacy.
Assist providers during gynecologic exams, prenatal visits, in-office procedures (e.g., IUD insertions, biopsies), and minor surgeries.
Obtain and document accurate vital signs, medical histories, and patient concerns.
Administer medications and injections as prescribed (e.g., Depo-Provera, Rhogam, vaccines).
Perform and process laboratory collections such as Pap smears, swabs, and urine tests.
Monitor fetal heart tones, fundal height, and other prenatal assessments as directed.
Triage patient phone calls, addressing clinical questions, assessing urgency, and coordinating care with providers.
Provide patient education on prenatal care, postpartum recovery, contraception, and general women’s health topics.
Maintain exam rooms and medical supplies to ensure readiness and compliance with infection control standards.

Administrative & Support Duties:

Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
Communicate lab and diagnostic results to patients per provider instruction.
Assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, and referral coordination.
Schedule follow-up visits and diagnostic testing as needed.
Participate in team meetings and support quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Serve as a reliable and compassionate point of contact for patients, building trusted relationships through clear communication and empathy.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred; OB/GYN or women’s health experience strongly desired.
Certifications: BLS certification required.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with EHR systems and general computer proficiency.

Ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 – 40 per week
