Location: Gurnee Office: weekly; Lake Forest Office as needed; One Saturday per month
Job Summary
Beyond Gyne Health is seeking a friendly, skilled, and enthusiastic Gynecology Ultrasound Sonographer to join our small but growing medical practice. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing exceptional patient care. In this role, you’ll work closely with our providers and team to ensure each patient receives the highest quality of service and attention.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with compassionate patient care. You’ll perform gynecologic ultrasound exams accurately and efficiently while contributing positively to a collaborative, supportive team environment.
Duties Of Position
- Adhere to all HIPAA privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with providers, patients, and team members.

Skills & Qualifications
- Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree or certificate. Nuchal Translucency certification.
- ARDMS certification required, (must have passed the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam and the OB/GYN specialty exam to earn the RDMS-OB/GYN credential).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a gynecologic sonographer; breast imaging experience preferred but not required.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in transabdominal, transvaginal, and breast scanning; skilled in proper probe manipulation and patient positioning.
- Ability to obtain diagnostic-quality images and identify normal anatomy and abnormalities.
- Able to work independently from reading radiologist.
- Assist in realtime imaging during ultrasound guided procedures and interoffice surgeries.
- Strong understanding of the female reproductive system and related pathologies (e.g., fibroids, cysts, endometrial conditions).
- Familiarity with breast anatomy and pathology, with the ability to differentiate benign from malignant findings and assist with procedures such as biopsies.
- Doppler Technology: Competence in assessing blood flow to support gynecologic and breast imaging diagnosis.
- Proficiency in ultrasound systems and transducer adjustments.
- Experience with PACS and EHR systems for documenting and managing imaging data.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and ensure proper machine functionality.

- Strong attention to detail to ensure image accuracy and diagnostic reliability.
- Effective collaboration with the providers and radiologist.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt techniques and resolve imaging challenges
Salary & Benefits
- $50 - $60/hour based on experience
- 401(k) and 401(k) matching eligible after one year
