Position: Pre-Admit Clinic
Temporary Part- Time Registered Practical Nurse (UNIFOR Service) Approximately Until April 30, 2026
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8 Hour shifts 0700-1500
JOB SUMMARY:
Comprehensive pre-operative assessment of patients of varying ages and complexities. Pre and post-operative teaching for a wide variety of surgeries. Working collaboratively within a team practice with surgeons, anesthesiologists and physicians as well as allied health. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Demonstrated surgical expertise in orthopedics, general surgery, pediatrics and gynecology is essential
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and to provide follow up to the patient
- Advanced assessment skills and knowledge is essential
- Demonstrated communication skills necessary to interact with interdisciplinary teams, patients, families and general public
- Ability to function autonomously
- Dependability, reliability and adaptability
- Demonstrated evidence of recent continuing education
Good attendance record
