Location - Austin, TX
13 Weeks contract
40 hours/ week
Pay- $2300 to $2400 weekly
Position Summary
The Maternal Fetal Monitoring (MFM) Ultrasonographer provides high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging for high-risk obstetric patients under the direction of Maternal Fetal Medicine providers. This 13-week travel contract supports a busy, collaborative outpatient MFM clinic equipped with advanced GE Voluson ultrasound technology. The ideal candidate possesses strong OB/MFM scanning skills, experience with fetal cardiac monitoring, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 7:45 AM – 12:00 PM
- No call, no weekends
Unit Information
- Patient Ratios: 6–8 patients per sonographer
- Equipment: GE Voluson E22, GE Voluson E10
- EMR: Viewpoint
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality maternal-fetal ultrasounds, including first-, second-, and third-trimester scans.
- Conduct fetal echocardiograms (experience or FE registry preferred).
- Assist physicians during procedures, including chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and amniocentesis.
- Document studies accurately in Viewpoint and ensure the completeness of patient imaging records.
- Collaborate with MFM providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Maintain exam room readiness, including equipment checks, transducer care, and infection control practices.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to high-risk obstetric patients and their families.
Required Qualifications
Candidates without these minimum requirements will not be considered.
- 2+ years of OB/MFM sonography experience
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification
- Proficiency with high-risk obstetric ultrasounds
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Fetal Echocardiogram (FE) registry or fetal cardiac scanning experience
- Nuchal translucency (NT) and nasal bone certification
- Experience with GE Voluson E10/E22 equipment
- Viewpoint EMR experience
Typical Procedures on Unit
- First, second, and third trimester ultrasounds
- Fetal echocardiography
- CVS and amniocentesis
- Biophysical profiles, limited studies, and growth scans
