Applications are invited for Registered Nurse to work across our Neonatal service with includes a 20 bedded level 2 local neonatal unit and a 6 bedded transitional care unit. We are within a large District General hospital. We are looking for highly motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic nurses to join our neonatal nursing team. We have a full available for individuals with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
Our Local Neonatal Unit is situated within Northampton General Hospital and is part of a large integrated Child Health Directorate as well as a part of the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. The unit offers comprehensive neonatal services which include 2 designated Intensive Care cots, 4 High Dependency cots and 14 Special Care cots. The transitional care unit is situated within maternity and is led by a Neonatal transitional care Lead Nurse. The successful candidate will be supported by our education team with an appropriate competency structure to enable you to learn the role of the neonatal nurse.

The Child Health Directorate achieved ‘Good’ across all areas of CQC assessment in 2017.
The post holder will assist in the overall nursing care ensuring delivery of high standards of care to patients and their families within the ward. They will act as a clinical role model providing leadership and support to both nursing and medical staff ensuring the promotion of a safe working environment. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of high dependency and special clinical care to vulnerable neonates across the Neonatal unit and Transitional care using a philosophy of family centred care.
An expectation that the post holder will maintain high professional standards, keep abreast of research and developments within the neonatal field and support the neonatal team in the smooth running of the unit. This will mean that the post holder will be expected to undertake the neonatal foundation course within 12 months of employment and the neonatal Qualified in Specialty Course within 2 years of employment
